Golf photographer Cy Cyr documented Arnold Palmer and Peyton Mannin in Mr. Palmer’s Bay Hill office during the 2014 Arnold Palmer Invitational.  Peyton was in town for an interview about Mr. Palmer’s famous autograph style.  The interview aired on Golf Channel. It was quite and honor to be in the room with these sporting legends. I have been lucky to photograph Mr. Palmer on several occasions for various media outlets throughout the years.

Colin Montgomerie

Gleneagles Country Club in Delray Beach, Florida provided the backdrop for Golf Channel’s Academy show featuring Scotland’s Colin Montgomerie.  Filming took place on February 10th an 11th, 2014.

Before filming even started, it was cool to see the looks of the women participating in a cancer fundraiser at Gleneagles as Monty got on the microphone and wished them well and sent them off in their scramble.

Here is Colin’s official website.

I got the chance to make many portraits and action shots of Colin.  In addition to filming segments on putting, short game and driving, he took part in a Ryder Cup interview that will be broadcast later this year.

The Golf Channel team busted out their 32 camera GoPro system.  The results are here.

Colin entertained the crew for two days with his skills, British humor and personality.  Be sure to check out the Colin Montgomerie specials on Golf Channel!

I love photographing the “King.”

I worked with the video team from Brighthouse, an Orlando ad agency and the staff at Arnold Palmer Invitational for the stills promoting Mr. Palmer’s March 2014 golf tournament.

You can find multiple billboards (below) around Central Florida promoting the tournament.  Publix supermarkets also have stand alone and point of sale campaigns (last photo).  You can also find my work on arnoldpalmerinvitational.com (above) and banner ads if Google knows you’re a golfer!

The photos were taken in December 2013 at Mr. Palmer’s Bay Hill Golf Club in Orlando.

It was fun photographing Mr. Palmer raking a sand trap, cutting blades of grass, changing out flags, polishing the trophy, socializing with production staff, interacting with his dog, and inviting players to his tournament.

The Arnold Palmer Invitational 2014 tournament is March 17-23, get your tickets today!

Johnny Miller

Johnny Miller

Johnny Miller is a man of many talents. With 32 professional wins under his belt, the man definitely knows his golf. He serves as a golf analyst on television, and he is also a columnist for Golf Digest Magazine. Miller has even dipped his hand in the acting world, as he has appeared in a few television shows and movies playing none other than himself. In this photo, Miller is waiting to go on air at the Players Championship and bless viewers with his infinite knowledge.

Christina Kim

Christina KimAnimated.  flamboyant, outgoing, colorful, successful.  Depression?

The Golf Channel called me to be the still photographer on the set of  LPGA’s Christina Kim’s appearance on InPlay with Jimmy Roberts.  Damon Hack was the show host.

The interview took place at ChampionsGate, a golf resort in Orlando, Florida.  Two adjoining rooms were set up with monitors, make up, cameras and lighting.

On camera with Damon Hack, Christina spoke about her successes, upbringing, family, style and golf. She also spoke of her depression, which she wrote about in her blog last year. Her good friend Michelle Wei also stopped by the set, and spoke about her relationship with Christina.  It was cool to be in the room with two of the games superstars.

Off camera, Christina took an interest in my Canon 5DMarkIII camera, and said she loves photography.

On the way to the next location to hit golf balls, I asked Christina if she had a minute to pose for a quick photo.  (Above)  Hotel staff was setting up some “grass” covered chairs for an event later in the day, and I simply thought it looked cool.

After a few jokes on the way back to her vehicle, Christina was on her way.  It was a great experience with one of golfs brightest stars.

Raymond Floyd

Raymond Floyd

Raymond Floyd won two majors before I was born.  He won another two after I was born.  He has 22 wins on the PGA Tour.

The Golf Channel filmed a “7 Nights at the Academy” special show at Old Palm Golf Club in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida featuring Raymond Floyd.  Filming took place over two days on the range facility.

Golf Channel’s Martin Hall co-hosted the show.  Win McMurry took a behind the scenes crew through the show, and even hosted a Q and A with Mr. Floyd.

My photos were used to promote the show online, in banner ads, and on the Golf Channel website.

Mr. Floyd was great to work with, as we had conversations about his children, New England states, fishing and hunting.
